Shirt & Jersey Rules:
- One of the more common violations, along with socks.
- Jersey must be tucked in. Short jerseys cut above the waist are prohibited.
- Jerseys that are too small and do not cover the shoulder pads and other equipment are a violation.
- "Tear-away" jerseys are illegal (known as the Greg Pruitt Rule). Pruitt purposely wore flimsy jerseys that ripped apart in the hands of would-be tacklers.

Where does all the NFL fine money go?
According to the NFL bylaws, all fines collected throughout the season must be divided evenly between organizations dedicated to the betterment of humanity. The following four organizations are not-for-profits whose focus is helping people both in and outside the NFL:
